Key proporties
Adhesive – Functional chemical groups within the liguid components are available to react with organic and inorganic parts of bone.

Osteoconductive – The polymerization process releases carbon dioxide, forming internal pores in the range of 50 to 300 µm in diameter and comprising approximately 50% of Kryptonite osteoconductive Adhesive’s final volume.

Bone-like strength- It’s Osteoconductive Adhesive mimics natural bone in its mechanical proporties (strength, stiffness), structure and workability (drill, cut, burr)

Low Exotherm – Kryptonite cures at approximately 43 ⁰C. A low exotherm can substantially reduce the risk of local tissue necrosis during polymerization

Non – toxic- The biocompability, safety and stability of Kryptonite Osteoconductive Adhesive has been evaluated in accordance with FDA/ISO10933 guidelines and the product was found to be non toxic and safe to use with no special precautions for either patients or the operating staff.

Final synthesis of KRYPTONITE Bone Cement simply requires mixing of three components:

Component A
Component A (Prepolymer) contains a naturally occurring hydroxyl terminated fatty acid derived from castor oil. This triglyceride is synthesized with NCO groups to create prepolymer chains ready for polymerization upon mixing with Component B.
Component B
(Polyol) similarly contains a naturally occurring hydroxyl terminated fatty acid derived from castor oil along with a catalyst and water. The water reacts with NCO groups from Component A to release carbon dioxide, one of the sources of the KRYPTONITETM Bone Cement’s porosity.
Component C
(Calcium Carbonate) is a nonreactive filler used to enhance porosity and achieve the desired mechanical and structural properties.
