For years surgeons have been looking for a simpler, atraumatic method to control bleeding during surgery. Ideally, this method would also prevent back-bleeding from side branches and collaterals — and not require removal before completion of the anastomosis.

• Biocompatible
• Liquid at low temperatures
• Rapidly transition to gel at physiological temperature.
• The transition occurs very quickly over approximately one half of a degree Celsius
• The aqueous, biocompatible polymer is reversible back to a liquid via cooling and is dissolvable.
• Not any longer reversible.
